Post Lockdown Local Train News In West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that all private offices can operate in the state with cent per cent workforce and govt offices with 70 % workforce from June 8. The jute mills and tea industry, however, were allowed to operate with full staff strength from June 1, when all religious places will also have the permission to open provided they do not let more than 10 persons congregate at a time.

In such a situation, local trains and metro rail are yet to resume operations, created confusion among the office goers. Till today (June 14, 2020) no clear cut announcement is made from authority.

In Mumbai, suburban train services are set to resume from this week as early as Monday. The services will, however, be operated only for essential workers to ferry them to their workplace and back.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray last Wednesday had also demanded resumption of suburban train services in Mumbai for movement of staff on essential services duty.
