Introduction of New Weekly Express Train between Puri and Ajmer in East Coast Railway

As announced in the Railway Budget 2013 – 14 and To fulfill passengers’ demand and for the convenience of the passengers and with an aim for clearing passengers’ rush from Puri towards Ajmer route, a Bi – Weekly express train between Puri and Ajmer, via Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad , which was announced in the Railway Budget 2013 - 14, East Coast Railway has decided to inaugurate the Bi - Weekly express Train. Minister of State for Railways Sri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will flag off the inaugural run of the Bi – Weekly express train between Puri and Ajmer, at Puri Railway station on 22/12/2013 at a function to be held at 15.30 hrs. in presence of Sri Maheswar Mohanty, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and Culture, Planning and Co – ordination and Law Department; Govt. of Odisha and Sri Pinaki Mishra, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Puri.

The inaugural special Train No. 08421 from Puri to Ajmer Bi - weekly express will run on 22/12/2013, Sunday from Puri at 16.30 hrs. to reach at Ajmer at 18.30 hrs. on the third day (24/12/2013). The inaugural special Train No. 8422 from Ajmer to Puri Bi - weekly express will run on 25/12/2013, from Ajmer at 16.00 hrs. to reach at Puri at 18.45 hrs. on the third day (27/12/2013).

On regular service, the Train No. 18421 from Puri to Ajmer Bi – weekly express will run from Puri on every Monday and Thursday with effect from 30/12/2013 and on regular service, the Train No. 18422 from Ajmer to Puri Bi - weekly express will run from Ajmer on every Tuesday and Friday with effect from 03/12/2013.

Running schedule of the Bi - weekly express train from Puri to Ajmer: Train will leave Puri at 21.25 hrs. on every Monday and Thursday with effect from 30/12/2013. Train will reach at Ajmer at 21.00 hrs. on the third day.

Running schedule of the Bi - weekly express train from Ajmer to Puri: Train will leave Ajmer at 16.00 hrs. on every Tuesday and Friday with effect from 03/12/2013. Train will reach at Puri at 18.45 hrs. on the third day.

The Train No. 18421/ 18422 Puri – Ajmer - Puri Bi - weekly express train will stop at the following Stations : Khurda Road Jn., Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titlagarh, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Raipur Jn., Durg, Gondia Jn., Nagpur, Wardha Jn., Badnera Jn., Akola Jn.,  Malkapur, Bhuswal Jn., Jalgaon Jn., Amalner, Nandurbar, Surat, Vadodara Jn., Ahmedabad Jn., Sabarmati Jn., Mahesana Jn., Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi Road, Falana, Rani, Marwar and Beawar stations in both the directions.
