To clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas, New
Year, Irumudi, Thaipoosam and Pongal festivals, Southern Railway has
decided to run the following special trains:
Nagercoil to Chennai Egmore
Weekly Christmas, New Year, Irumudi, Thaipoosam and Pongal
superfast special train 2012 – 2013 from Nagercoil to Chennai Egmore details is given below:
Train No.06748
Running schedule of the train: Train will leave
Nagercoil at 17.00 hrs. on every Sundays from 25/11/2012 to
20/01/2013 i.e.,25/11,02/12,09/12,16/12,23/12, 30/12/2012,06/01/2013,13/01 and
20/01/2013 (09 trips).Train will reach at Chennai Egmore at 06.05 hrs. on the
next day.
Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil
Train No.06747
Running schedule of the festival special trains: Train will
leave Chennai Egmore at 14.35 hrs. on every Mondays from 26/11/2012 to
21/01/2013 i.e.,26/11, 03/12,10/12,17/12,24/12,31/12/2012,07/01/2013,14/01 and
21/01/2013 (09 trips).Train will reach at Nagercoil at 05.30 hrs. on the next
day.

06747 Nagercoil - Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil (Via Madurai Jn.,
Tiruchchirappalli, Vridhachalam, Villupuram) weekly Christmas,New Year,Irumudi,
Thaipoosam and Pongal special train 2012 – 2013 will stop at the following stations : Valliyur,Tiruneveli, Vanchi
Maniyachi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai Jn.,
Dindigul,Tiruchchirappalli, Vridhachalam,
Villupuram,Malmaruvathur,Chengalpattu
and Tambaram stations in both the directions. Train No.06748 will stop
at Mambalam station and Train No.06747 will stop at Ariyalur and Srirangam
station also.
Composition of the Train No. 06748 / 06747 Nagercoil -
Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil (Via Madurai Jn., Tiruchchirappalli, Vridhachalam,
Villupuram) special train 2012 – 2013: One AC – 2 – tier, two Ac – 3 – tier, twelve Sleeper Class,
four General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Vans coaches.
